Default mbox2 - no sound

hi

I have a strange problem with my Mbox2

everything works fine - apart from when I'm on the internet

I can't hear sounds from the internet - whether it be embedded video, background music etc

I think I might have touched something in the sound control panel - does anybody know what this could be down to?

(I am using Mbox 2 with Windows XP)

Chris

MBox2 is proprietary to Pro Tools and associated programs. From my understanding it cannot be used as a sound card for your entire computer.

You are wrong about that.

It is definitely not recommended for system sounds at all, but using the wavedriver (installed by default with the software) you can assign it as the default Windows sound card and use it for third party applications (iTunes, Windows Media, winamp, etc etc).

kristunes, the wavedriver is a single client driver, meaning that only one program can use it at a time. It's quite possible that you have two applications trying to access the driver at the same time, which is why you can't hear certain apps. You also might need to add them to the optin list. Check out the WaveDriver Usage Guide for details.

I guess it always threw me off that in the audio and sound device screen it says "no device selected"...but I got it working with Windows Media Player...still need to set it up with winamp. I guess I need to add it to the opt-in list. Much Appreciated.
