Just like Avid, if you stay on the WUP, Version numbers/updates don't matter. My only beef ( and its a HUGE one) with Waves in decades of being a customer is the screwing over we TDM owners got in the transition to only AAX native/no DSP.

I’m still mad about that!

Pro Tools and other software not being Catalina compatible is no mystery - it's been known for over a month. Did you need to upgrade for other reasons?

To their credit, Avid has always taken a far more conservative approach to claims of OS and computer compatibility than other developers. That doesn't mean it won't work, just that you could be asking for trouble.

HI guys for educational/informative purposes an update here on PT and Catalina status. ALWAYS wait for the official Avid announcement about compatibility before doing any update. I've been testing PT and Catalina since the 1st beta so well and happy to see that 2019.10 at least launch on Catalina OS. It continues to load till a compatibility screen appears, before this with PT 2019.9 it won't even launch. BUT that's a good step on Avid side. Hopefully it won't go to far to get compatibility with Catalina ...Let see ! For now don't go there yet and take care.

I've been using the nifty little app Soundplant when recording live podcasts with just a laptop for easy triggering of jingles and other sounds.

While it's still not either compatible with Catalina yet I noticed the latest email update from Soundplant on Catalina:

"As you probably know by now, Apple has decided to end support for 32-bit applications with their latest macOS release. Soundplant on Mac has long used a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit components to achieve optimization where needed while avoiding reinventing the wheel where there was no benefit from 64-bitness, but porting it to a fully 64-bit version has required extensive rewrites."

"Extensive rewrites"
I would consider Soundplant a rather small app compared to Pro Tools, so making Pro Tools fully 64-bit sounds like it could be quite a HUGE task..?
