So, do you have any other versions/licenses (perhaps upgraded to v8 or v9) in your iLok account?

Can you imagine yourself in that position?
Yes, I'd be very frustrated. As I said, no doubt there are folks who are getting screwed, wrongfully, by this situation -- I was just hoping to hear MORE about those situations where legit copies of plugins were revoked.

EXACTLY WHEN were these duplicates created? Over what period of time?

Is it possible that someone had a duplicate for 8 or 10 years? Or, was this duplicate disaster part of the botched ILM rollout?

Well...

Actually I beat you to the punch on this one, with my post #14 on this thread: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=353562

And how many responses have I gotten? (cue more tumbleweeds).

I went back and checked some posts I did a couple of years ago, which related to license sales and transfers...back then I pointed out that they were not allowed to sell certain things (per Avid)...several people pointed out that they had been buying and selling licenses for years with no beefs from Avid...I responded that maybe Avid hadn't yet done anything about the "illegal" sales but they could do something anytime they chose to.

And it looks like Avid, and some other plugin developers have decided to do something about it...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

well illegal sales is a bit harsh - judging by the comments on waves purchases from waves themselves

But I believe this is another thing entirely, and most dev's allow 2nd hand sales

Some with notification and some with fees but most allow them

Of course there is risk when buying a used license. But that risk is supposed to be mitigated by Pace's direct involvement with all license transfers, not exacerbated by it, as it seems to have been in many cases detailed in this thread.

Yes! and additionally it is reasonable to add that if PACE transfers a license it has now agreed that this is a valid license (that is the purpose of their system!). Any future discovery of fraud by the seller or accidental duplication by PACE is between PACE, the seller and the developer of the asset. By any moral or ethical compass it is PACE who is responsible to the developer - certainly not the buyer!
