Default Midi Loop recording

Ok guys, I have a really stupid question to ask. I have very little experience with MIDI, and I have a potential client who wants to do some tracks here. My question is is how to setup pro tools like an MPC. Basically I want to record just the kick, loop it and come back with the snare, etc. Ive been trying wit PT, but everytime it comes back around, it erases all the data. How do I go around this?

Default Re: Midi Loop recording

no sweat - you just gotta click the overdub record button (or whatever it's called)

4th button on the transport window (over the tempo)
