I connected the optical in's and out's of the ADAT player to the optical in's and out's of the 002 rack, set the ADAT to digital out and when playing audio from adat we heard a static like noise, anybody know why or how I can fix that? The ADAT player was an older model and only had opticals no s/pdif.
Thanks |

Did you tell the 002R to use an external clock? Otherwise it doesn't sync the clocks and you will hear static since they won't be digitally locked.

Did you ever fix your problem?
I am running into the same issue when I try running the optical out of my Alesis HD24 into the Saffire 56 to be recorded on Pro tools 10. I am wondering if there are any issues with the optical out of the HD24 carring 24 tracks since the Saffire only takes 8 per input? Not even sure how to get 16 in... should I connect one of the outputs on the interface back into the extra input? Any ideas? Any one? |

OK so I fixed my problem... it was the word clock and I had forgotten about the 3 different in and out ports of optical on the Alesis hd24... oops!
Thanks! |
