Default Waveshell pause on start up (loading plugins)

Hell everyone
Not sure if this is the right spot for this question. For those that have waves plugins do you get the waveshell (loading plugins) pause on startup? is this something normal? i've updated to the latest version of waves uninstalled and reinstalled and still pauses on waveshells???

It's normal. The Wave Shell iterates through and enumerates out all the Waves plugins that you have. The first time is pretty slow after that, it's faster .. but it does take a while. That's one of the bummers about shells ... they don't cache as well as the other AAX plugins.

Sometimes the Waveshell will hold up on Pro Tools launch for a longer than usual time even after a first time launch. This may be it trying to phone home or authenticate to the licensing device.
One way to speed it up is to trash the license folder on the Waves Flash drive or Hard drive where you have your Waves License (Waves>License) this is for Mac OSX. Then go to Waves Central and let it rebuild the license file when you login.
Waves Central is not a big fan of sitting behind proxy servers or other limited Internet connections. We experienced this issue on Pro Tools on Mac OSX sitting on a network connection that used a proxy.

I suspect this it true. I've found that if I keep my workstation offline for an extended period, the Waveshell scan takes longer and longer. After going online and starting Pro Tools, it then speeds back up. I also always log into Waves Central while online once, just to be safe.

It's slow only when I'm in a hurry...

I've had the same problem. It's a Waves bug that already has been fixed. See here: https://www.waves.com/downloads/release-notes#v10
From their release notes:
June 18th, 2019
... Fixed: Bug which caused long plugin scan and loading times on computers not connected to the internet ...

Interesting. It's well into 2021, and I'm still seeing this behavior. Maybe there was a different, more consistent bug that slowed down the scan that they fixed, but whatever causes this cumulative offline issue hasn't gone away.

Has there ever been a fix for this issue other than deleting the waves local server ? Out of nowhere I have the super slow loading waveshells on PT startup (10-15 minutes). Also instanciating waves plugins onto tracks is super slow.

Thanks in advance for helping.
