And the difference with 32bit to 64bit would be minimal because right now the thing that holds the application back is HDD speed.
As in the other thread, your first statement is false and the second is pure speculation.

Yeah I did confuse the two. Replace GHZ with GB. Now is MikeX still right about the 1.7 thing?

As you should read in the other thread. The first statement is TRUE in effect that its 2GB not 1.7 (my bad) and the second statement is more than true.

Madd...if you do a quick search, you'll see that many DUC users have accomplished getting PT8 up and running on Windows 7. Though not supported "technically," it has been shown to work. I just wish I got onto 7 while it was still in Beta.

I responded in detail in the other thread.

Don't want to make a fuss here, but misinformation can be harmful to the posters here who take what is posted as gospel. Would you have me let errors stand uncorrected in order to maintain harmony?

Giving it some thought, I think it is safe to say this:

If one has 4 gig of physical ram installed and their system performance isn't what they want it to be, they can either upgrade their cpu if there are significantly faster ones available for the mobo, or they can upgrade memory, mobo, and cpu.

The first upgrade is always the ram--but no more than 4 gig.
