Using VCA Masters while recording

Are you able to use VCA Masters while recording yet? I'm using pro tools for mixing a live webstream as well as tracking at the same time. As of pt11 you can now record automation while recording. But while PT will record your vca automation while recording and show it's results on the controlled ch's while it's recording, the vca's have no control over the channels that are assigned to them.

Am I missing something or is this still not possible in pro tools.
