I'm really looking forward to an update too but considering the whole pandemic thing I'll give them a pass if it doesn't come through by the end of the month

Yeah, because software developers can't work remote. Oh wait... I'm a dev, and I've been working without interruption...

Well. But they must suspend the time into the annual plan and give us a grace period.

True, but we must not count any generosity from Avid. Or I fall down my chair.

Yeah I get that, I was a software dev in my previous life. And I'm definitely not a fan of Avid's subscription model, forever wait between updates, and zero communication. In fact it really pisses me off. Just saying a lot is in disarray right now and some delays in all sectors are understandable.

Yeah as a longtime Digi/Avid user (29 years!?) I am not expecting them to step up. My yearly Ultimate plan expires at the end of the month. This would be the first time in almost 30 years where I have to pause and reassess the need to keep updating unconditionally. Not neccesarily because I can't afford the $399.
But because I have no idea what is coming down the pipe. Are we on lockdown for a couple of weeks!? Or ,as the NYC Governor just expressed in a press release, are we in it for at least several months. That $399 could feed my family for 2-3 weeks. And as a profesional I have no projected income for the foreseeable future.(as in, all scheduled jobs and projects are on hold indefinitely).
Crazy times we are living in.

Exactly. Not to be harsh, but I see no single reason why Avid should let the release window slip again. Pandemic excuses are not really applicable for software development.

Unbelievable.

Read your own message in 4 weeks time and see how well your wisdom has aged.

Folks - every one of us needs to take what is happening incredibly seriously. We will pretty much all be going into lockdown conditions if we are not already there. Some work will continue, but it will slow, and probably keep slowing to a crawl due to the increasing knock on effects. My brother who works in C London but only in the past few days was allowed to work from home, is Day 4 with the virus.

To every Avid employee and everyone on this forum, please do stay safe and think of others so we can all - in time - think once more that the benefits of folder tracks is kind of important in our lives.
