Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
All AAS instruments are modeled. They don’t use samples.

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
Yes. Physical modeling. I have the string studio and ultra analog VI’s but they are both uninstalled.
They do sound a bit toy like to me and not on the same level as VI’s like Nexus2, Sylenth1, Dune 2, Spire, Hive and Hybrid. But I do like the concept of physical modeling with it’s small footprint. Best physical modeling VI today is Pianoteq 6 and Modo bass imo. |

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
The goal of AAS seems to be that, I didn't like it either but they got it incredibly right with Lounge Lizard. I keep em installed because sometimes the wrong sound can be the right for the project.

Okay, thanks. I'm not all that excited about it, to be honest. I listened to some of their audio samples and they were okay, but nothing I see a need for with anything I do. So, I'll probably not bother with this one.

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
Exactly. And what's more, and I loosely paraphrase Jeff Beck here; every instrument, whether real or virtual, no matter how weird or outlandish, has at least one useful sound.
I listened to examples of most the sound banks (is that what you call them?) and settled for 'Masala'. An eclectic set of plucked and bowed ethnic instruments. Koto, Kora, Sitar, Berimbau and more. I found a favorite in the 'Banhu Violin' which, in the lower registers sounds like a cello or double bass playing bowed harmonics. Pretty cool stuff. T

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
It took a while but I found a couple of interesting sound banks to choose. Of course, being preset in nature is a little limiting but sometimes less is more.
I was uninspired by most of the sounds I heard. Most seem to be geared to sound design or Blade Runneresque soundtrack creation. Anyhow, can't grumble. Always to good to have a few more sounds to try Stephen

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
I did not know this. I have the free ones and i havent really used them on anything- i just kinda went through and tried a bunch and they sounded like stuff i have heard on hip hop and edm tracks. Not really my area though. I will admit i like to use trashy stuff though YMMV

Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
Kicking off the new year for our Plug-in Collective community, from 10 January we’re offering a real boost to your mastering with a free GROW plug-in from Mastering the Mix (worth £17), plus a 6-month license to their trouble-shooting tool LEVELS (retailing as a plug-in at £49). As a registered Focusrite hardware customer, get your hands on these versatile, intuitive plug-ins by checking out your Focusrite account – you’ve got until 7 March 2019 to grab the deal. If you haven’t yet registered go to [link to Register page]. GROW is a dynamic module within the popular ANIMATE plug-in, which enables you to increase the width of selected frequencies using a psychoacoustic precedence effect, spreading frequencies super-wide. Only audio that surpasses the set threshold will be pushed wide, so you don’t have to settle for a static and boring width, or worry about mangling the rest of your mix. ANIMATE uses a sophisticated algorithm to create an all-pass filter to dramatically reduce harmful phase cancellation resulting from the filtering process, injecting real life into your mixes to get your music jumping out of your speakers. What we particularly like about GROW is the vibrant and clean interface, how quickly you can get a noticeable result, and just how good the thing sounds! Achieving wideness without completely clearing out the middle of your mix (which can lead to problems if you’re playing on big rigs – often set in mono) is a bit of a dark art. With GROW we found we could reach the desired levels of width across specific frequency bands (with an amazing level of control) really quickly. LEVELS is an invaluable trouble-shooting tool, perfecting your mastering by monitoring the elements of your mix and alerting you to any technical problems. Anyone who’s having their music mastered can stumble on metering issues – is my master bus peaking at the right level? Is it over compressed? How clean is the sub and bass? These things can sometimes be really difficult to accurately monitor in non-ideal or DIY studio spaces, so it’s amazing to have this helping hand to complement your monitors and your own ears. With a refreshingly intuitive interface, and presets for CD, Club, Streaming, YouTube and more, LEVELS helps you quickly diagnose problems and gives practical advice on how to fix them. So you can spend less time wondering why your mix isn’t working, and more time being creative. We’re really excited to be working with Mastering the Mix on this offer: with production standards across all styles of music reaching new levels (no pun intended) every year, there are some companies doing everything they can to help us as producers get the very most out of our mixes, and Mastering the Mix is one of them. _________________ Plug-in Collective is the community connecting you, Focusrite and the most innovative software brands. Keeping up to date with the constant wave of releases is vital if you want to find the best plug-ins: let Plug-in Collective help you keep ahead of the curve, offering you free software downloads and generous discounts on the latest tools. Re: Focusrite Plugin Collective
Is anybody here able to access BIAS Amp 2 LE? I do not see it in my Focusrite account.
"We have unveiled a new offer for our Plug-in Collective community from 6 September to 1 November. The availability of free Positive Grid plug-in BIAS Amp 2 LE coincides with a $20 discount off Positive Grid’s BIAS AMP 2 Std or BIAS AMP 2 Pro. Registered Focusrite hardware customers can access the free plug-in and discount from their Focusrite accounts." I do see in my Focusrite account access to "XLN AUDIO: ADDICTIVE KEYS" (which includes a great grand piano - but I already own it), and also "UJam Virtual Guitarist Iron" which I am downloading right now. Can't access BIAS Amp 2 LE, though. Help.
