We are in March and nothing out yet, we have been anticipating and waiting for this update since NAMM and AVID made a smart move when they announced the folder track but this update is talking too much time.
We all paying cash for very little things and with them removing the option to do a re-instatement that mean they want us either to keep pay the renewal or change to subscription model.
The issue that their subscription model is not bad but it's expensive!
I think that they either very confident that we will not jump from protools ship or they don't understand the market.
my point that AVID is taking far more than what they take compared to their competition.

I have experienced MANY frustrations with Avid since 1995, so I understand where you are coming from. Folder tracks and control surface integration is taking some time, but the saving grace is when Avid incorporates a new feature into PT, it usually is well though out and implemented.

This is true. I have had very very few issues with Commit or Track Freeze since they were rolled out.

Disappearing audio or wrongly referenced one is a feature not a bug

There was a bug with similar results in a version of ProTools 3.2 or 4 IIRC.
Everything old is new again?

A real showstopper, sadly.

At this turtle speed to add folders, we will have the equivalent of Cubase in 10 years (multiple rules, multiple marker tracks, ARA2, macros, etc.). I think Avid does things right when she does them, but it's eternity!

Release in A-B-C parts. It seems not fair when celebrity-Beta works so well.
or consider open beta 2, last run n let it roll. There will be another.

Eddie and Jeff's much appreciated helpful presence in the control surface area really shows up how lacking Avid is with customer interaction in PT overall.

I would understand if this was a massive subforum you couldn't possibly keep track of, but it's not that busy - a couple posts a day.

When major bugs are brought up and seconded, there should be discussion from Avid reps in the threads.
