Default 24 Mix Plus Monitoring with Mackie 1202-VLZ

What is the best way to wire up my studio in order to have completely separate mixes for my control room and my headphone amp?

Currently I have...

882 Outputs 1-2 going to line 7-8 on my Mackie to my main speakers in my control room.
882 Outputs 3-4 going to line 9-10 on my Mackie my secondary speakers in my control room.

I've played around with various outs on my mixer or going directly out of my Pro Tools interface for the headphone amp/musician mix.

Any suggestions as to to where the best place is to go to my headphone amp? I especially have trouble when needing to send a click out to the drummer, because the drummmer needs to only hear the click (cranked really loud) with scratch guitar - And I really only need to hear the drums and guitar.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated so I can separate these mixes. Thanks much. Russ

Select an output in the aux send part of the channel strip in the Mixer Window. Select the same stereo output for all tracks. Make a mix on those aux sends which goes directly to a stereo output in ProTools. From there, you can patch into the Mackie at a lot of different point to send to your headphone amp. Of course, you probably have to figure in a talkback mic as well. The 1202 is pretty flexible, so there are any number of ways to make it work.
