Default Netflix delivery file

Hi,

First time we are working with Netflix - a series of documentaries - and we have to deliver 5.1 and Lt/Rt in a single file (consolidate), but how to put the 5.1 mix and the Stereo Lt/Rt together ?
First we have mixed the 5.1 than used the Neyrinck plugin for the Lt/Rt. And now ? How to export that in a consolidated file with Pro Tools ? Is it possible ? Do we need another plugin or app for that ?

Thanks

Using Pro Tools Ultimate 2018.4

Please read your deliverables again.

The consolidated 5.1 + 2.0 would be done by the creator of the IMF delivery.
I only deliver stems as part of the audio deliverables.

This is correct for a Netflix Original Series delivery.
Their content hub will accept individual mono files for delivery. 6 for 5.1 and 2 for LtRt.

The ProRes Proxy file for video delivery needs 8 channels of audio. 5.1+LtRt. This is usually done through the video editor since they will be outputing final video. You should be able to give the editor discreet mono channels for audio.

If this is not your workflow then Premiere will work for adding discreet audio to the ProRes file. As will Quicktime Pro 7.

The IMF is only created once the first couple rounds of QC have passed for video and audio.

There is another thread on here discussing the particulars of the Netflix ident and audio delivery.

I tried it once using a 7.1-track in PT and it didn't get rejected, so while that might not be the most proper way to do it, it sure is more attractive to me than buying an Adobe subscription just for wrapping deliverables.

Thanks for all your replies.

The fact is that they want it consolidated ! No individuals tracks.

We also tried the way in 7.1 but it was rejected.

So, we have to buy adobe ? But no one here using that, we are a sound studio...

Is this a foreign language dubbing project?

Where are you reading this in the deliverables document?

I know they’ll accept audio wrapped in a .mov container which can be done in Quicktime.

Talk with your Netflix Post rep and work out a compromise.

Ok. Their Dubbing deliverables are different. You can wrap the 5.1 and LtRt in a .mov container using Quicktime Pro. Plenty of youtube videos on this.
They will accept this method of delivery. Be careful with file naming. Follow the specs carefully being sure to include the channel order in the file name. Eg. LCRLsRsLtRt

Thanks a lot

Meanwhile, colleagues worked on this problem and actually found the solution through Quicktime. You had to know it ... especially when you've never done it before.

When will the return of the mono broadcast? That, I know how to do it !

It was our first solution but it did not work. The tracks were in the wrong place, although under Pro Tools everything was correct. After the export, it was a real mess in the consolidated file, and therefore refused to delivery.

Instead of 'L R C LFE Ls Rs LT RT' (as asked), it sounds like 'L LT R C LFE RT Ls Rs' after export. And 7.1 is a specific format and do not recognise LtRt, that became Lss and Rss.

May I ask you how did you do that? Because if it works, we could avoid further manipulation by using Quicktime, and thus save time.
