Question drum pattern to pt instead of just midi notes???

im trying to record drum pattern to pt instrumental track but all I get is midi notes how can i record actual drum beat that i have in my keyboard??? it should be possible? thanks. I have yamaha mm8.

If you want to record the analog wave form of the drum pattern then use the audio outputs of your MM8 into a stereo audio track. Instrument tracks are a hybrid combination of an audio track and a MIDI track but the information they record are strictly MIDI notes.

Hey, I figured that out, but the fact is that I have this cable from MM8 output (orange and grey cables) plugged into mbox 2, but still when I record onto instr track I can record only midi. what I am doing wrong?

you cant record audio to an instrument track only midi info, you need to record to an audio track...
