Default USB MOTU Micro Express midi problems w/001 & DP 867 Mac: Help!

I just switched over to a new DP867. I'm using a MOTU Micro Express USB midi interface. The MOTU driver is in the system folder, the MOTU USB extension is on, all midi menu items needed are enabled. I never had a problem before, but now I can't get midi in or out of a Pro Tools session. I checked all cables and connections, I'm going directly to the back of the Mac USB input...The Micro Express itself works (when "merge all" is selected, my keyboard controller does indeed drive my other devices, showing the midi flow is flowing, just not thru Pro Tools' session) fine.

What am I missing? Anyone have a clue? Thanks for any help, 'OL 88'

do you have OMS installed? If not, that is probably the way to go. If so, can you get to your devices and controllers in OMS studio setup test mode?

Thanks, but yes, I have OMS installed. I've been successfully using midi with Pro Tools since LE was first released, and OMS since my Opcode days.

I did a search and discovered I may not have the OMS emulation mode turned on in MOTU's Free Midi.
I'll have to take a look at that when I get back to the studio tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply!
