Default Access violation error, I don\'t know why...

i cannot open one of my sessions, because protools says: "Could not complete the Open session...command because Access violation occured while translating Tracks"
What is this? I've never met with it. What can cause this?

the session is most likely corrupted. try opening the most recent backup or (if you have auto backup disabled) try creating a new session and importing session data from the damaged session.

are you using any video files in the session?

"Could not complete the Open Session... command because Access Violation occurred while translating tracks"

I ran into this just last night on a session with multiple session files (different ptf's for different mixes). Up until last night, zero problems. No session file would load, nor would any backup.

At least in this case, it turned out to be a plug-in which needed to be removed or updated. Check your ExceptionLogs directory for a debug file of the date/time when you had a failure loading a session. View it with a standard text file viewer like notepad and check for any references to a plug-in. Whatever it shows, remove the .dpm and .rsr file for that plugin from the DAE/plugins directory and try loading the session again. If it loads (possibly complaining about a missing plugin) you have found the culprit.

In my case it was the BitterSweet II plugin from Flux, and there was an update on their website. The update worked fine.
