Digi 003 upgrade help

Hi , i own a dig 003 interface with pro tools 8 on a macbook pro that runs Mac OS X 10.5.8
I also have melodyne editor, bfd2 (2009 version) ,and isotope ozone 5 plug ins.

I am trying to switch to a desktop computer that has Mac O S X El Capitan (10.11.15)

I tried loading pro tools 8 on this Mac (el capitan) with no luck.


1-Do I need to buy an upgrade to pro tools ? (i would prefer to keep my physical 8 input interface which works fine so far)

2-If I do will my plug ins work on the new version of pro tools?

You need the newest version 12, and any 3rd party plugins will need to be updated to the current AAX format. The 003 should work fine with PT12 and the proper driver(which is now a separate download and install, unlike LE8 where the driver was part of the setup file). The good news is; you will really like the new features like Clip Gain, Track Freeze, Track Commit and off-line BTD
