Server/Editshare creating 180mb ptx files
"Reposting this from the Post Production forum"
Weird one that I'm hoping someone running sessions of a SAN or Editshare type system might have come across. This is based on a Macs running Yosemite with PTHD 12.8.1 on an Editshare but the issue is also with a High Sierra, PT Ultimate studio so don't think its pt related. So, start protools, create a new session on editshare. No audio, no tracks, just create a marker. Save and close session. As expected the .ptx is about 25kb. Reopen the session, the .ptx jumps to 92mb. Save and close. Reopen the session again the .ptx doubles to 184mb. Save and close (still no audio, tracks, plugins etc) Reopen the session, the .ptx will then stay at 184mb. Any new session opened or created will have this bug Quit protools, reopen it and create a new session and then the bug gets 'wiped', the .ptx saves as expected at 25kb or so Anyone have any idea why this might be happening or have any experience with this? Its like something in the server is changing the metadata to the ptx file. Obviously it means your session backups are huge and generally grinds the system down Thanks |

Having the exact same issue here. Editshare combined with PT causing huge session files slowing down everything.
