Thank you so much for speaking to us about this. We really do appreciate your input. But please remember that ProControls were new and shipped up to the end of 2004. My own ProControl, FaderPack, and EditPack were bought new in 2003. For such an expensive control surface, it is disappointing to see that it was only supported for 7 years until Pro Tools 9 was released. I'm glad that it still works great today with Pro Tools 10 (9 years since this was manufactured by DigiDesign/Avid.)

It would be really nice if it continued to work as is in Pro Tools 11+ as well! Heck, just keep the existing ProContol.bundle format valid and working in Pro Tools 11, along with all the other .bundle (C24, D-Command, etc) and you'll have a lot of happy customers!

The fact is that I'm not going to upgrade to D-Command, D-Control, or to the System5 even if the ProControls stop working with PT11. It's simply not going to happen, instead I'll just stay with PT10. I already bought the little Artist controllers for use with other software... but that doesn't replace my Pro Control rig. I would be happy to pay for money to Avid for new versions of Pro Tools, plug-ins, and even HD-Native card and interfaces... but only if you let me by still allowing my ProControls to work. I'm sure that I'm not alone in this...

I have made an IO setup that never exceeds 8 characters, that I thought some users here might like to use. It took a while to make, and includes all 256 busses. Pro Tools 10 does not crash when fader-flipping to sends using this IO Setup.

It is basically removing the word "bus" and using a "B" plus 3 characters for each number to ensure consistency. eg B001-002, B009, B010, B219-220, etc etc.

thanks Tweakhead - that is very sporting of you

I have just installed PT10.1.2 from 9.05 as was missing my jog wheel scrub so much, so haven't bumped into this bug yet, but hopefully thanks to you and others for finding the bug, and offering a workaround.

cheers

I'm interested to see how this works out. I have a minty Pro Control and Fader Pack that I've been using since 2001. I don't want to learn a new controller if I don't have to.
