Which motherboard?

According to Chapter 3 of the HD Native User Guide:

Quote:
The HD Native card is a 4x PCIe card. For
optimum performance, install the HD Native
card in a 4x or higher PCIe card slot in your
computer.

...

Remove the metal access port cover behind the
first available 4x or higher PCIe card slot
(typically, this will be the slot right next to the
video card) by removing the screw and sliding
the cover out from the access port.
I am new to this too ... the first (slot 1, closest to the CPU) PCIeX16 slot is likely where your graphics card is. The next PCIeX16 slot (slot 4, in my case) is where I have the HD Native card. There may other slots in between. The slot will be longer than the pins on the HD Native card. I have a UAD2 in one of the PCIeX1 slots in between on my motherboard. So far it is working great.

Good luck!

I had mine in a 4x then moved it to 16x, no real change, it works in both. I do have issues with low buffer settings and that's why I moved it to a 16x, but did not make any difference what I did find is if I set my cores to 1 and I have 8, I was able to record at 32 buffer, still got an error after about 4 minutes, but set the cores to 7 and I can't even record at 32. My system is solid at 128 or 256 and then I have my cores set to 7. I was playing around with this today, moving the card and running some tests.

I would look at startup services and other running services when the computer is going. sounds like the OS is requiring to much. also maybe a list of tweaks you have performed and see if we can get it going in the right direction.

Hey thanks I realized I am in the wrong forum, as I am on a Mac Pro. I did a test with my user startup software and turned all extras off but the same results.
