Default Nuverb & 7101

posted January 19, 2001 09:28 AM *** **** ** **

I have tried this tread earlier and I thought I had solved the problem - but no! Brent from Digi gave me some advice about the 7101 error, but sofar it hasn't helped.

I have an PT 3 system - system 8.1 on a Powermac 8100 w. an expanssion chassis. I have 2 DSP farms + a nuverb.

If i make more than 12 busses (sends) I get error 7101 when I open the session again. I then have to reinsert the Nuverb . I have tried to recycle the system without any luck. I only have the problem when the Nuverb is inserted - no other plug-in give me the problem.

In allocator I am able to see that I still have 3 or 4 DSP Chips available - any suggestions?

It seems that I have to put the Aux-tracks up to the top of my session - sometimes it helps.

When the session opens it looks as if it has something to do with the allocation of the mixer to the DSP-farm - could it be a missing DSP manager?

Please help if possible

Default Re: Nuverb & 7101

Plug-ins access DAE memory. If DAE's memory is set too small this error may present itself. When installing a NuVerb card with a TDM piggyback, you must allocate 10,000MB of RAM or more to the Preferred memory size of DAE. Never change the Minimum memory size. If you have, you can set it back to the default setting by typing a 0 into the field and press Enter on the numerical keypad.

-NuVerb in a Power Chassis was listed (by Lexicon) as not compatible (supported) until the 1.5 release of the NuVerb editor.

-NuVerb in a PowerMac CPU is only compatible with the addition of a system FPU emulator (available on CompuServe under the MIDI Vendor B forum - in the Lexicon Library. It's called "Software FPU", and it should be the 5th item from the top of the directory). It needs to be placed in the System Folder.

-Make sure the TDM ribbon cable is properly terminated.
