Re: No Pro Tools 13 for me unfortunately.
I get it, it may be in vain, but I'm an optimistic kind of guy!

Re: No Pro Tools 13 for me unfortunately.
My comment about the corporate world is pertinent. Your optimism will never be rewarded as long as Avid has a CEO and other leadership whose primary goal is raising stock value, rather than delivering a great product to their customers. And maximizing revenue instead of earning it.
The decision to outsource PT development was not in your best interest, and the decision to go to a subscription model was all about maximizing revenue. Even the failed cloud collaboration efforts were about creating another revenue stream. That was an enormous (mostly wasted) effort. Every company wants to be profitable. But the better ones do so by offering a superior product. |

Re: No Pro Tools 13 for me unfortunately.
If they can keep the same development team intact in Poland, there is definitely hope. Many of the outsourcing organizations use the same MO to save money as consulting firms do in the US. They hire lots of college grads and pay low wages, and so have high turnover. But when you have a complex technology like PT it's imperative that the developers have experience, and important to keep the team intact.

Re: No Pro Tools 13 for me unfortunately.
After testing a HD PCIe native card for 2 weeks in Dec.
many combinations from PT12.4 - 12.7 various OSX versions on my full-blow 6 core Mac Pro with 4 SSD and 32 GB RAM, i went back to PT 10 / HD3 Avid support was quick, very cooperative but unfortunately we cant find a solution for multi tracking at 64 buffer on my rig, without the -9173 errors PT12.4 works for mixing ITB at 512 buffer, but not for tracking, compared to HD3 TDM I guess the simple reason is: there is more money in selling a fancy, trade name DAW with cloud, loops, free plug ins etc. even if there are many good, affordable Apps out there ( Reaper, Logic , Cubase ) than offering a rock-steady multitrack DSP driven DAW / Audio Engine with lowest latency, ADC, tight MIDI at a reasonable / higher prize ... which i would pay / and payed for many years yes i thought about HDX , but the -9173 problems seems to be the same .. take look at the DUC Where do we go from here ? |

You know the definition of insanity is making the same mistake over and over again while expecting a different result?

Comparing those two cards are not fair so if you wanna track with HD12 like you did with TDM then you need atleast one HDX system. Not a HD native

Re: No Pro Tools 13 for me unfortunately.
Every U.S. public corporation developer had to either move to subscriptions or offer free updates sold as part of hardware due to tax laws.

but 26 tracks in record with disk cache on SSD / 32 GB RAM Clean PT session without any Plug ins in the session and no 3rd party plugins installed ADC off should work without - 9173 P.S tracking at 96k / 24bit , buffer set to 64 Last edited by T-Low; 01-03-2017 at 07:15 AM. |
