Default Mbox 1 - How to get it working with Snow Leopard

Hi Guys!

I have a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. When I plug in my Mbox into the Computer it is recognized under Audio Midi Settings. However, I can't hear music through it whenever I set it up as the playback input / output. Also, If it's mounted and then I set it as my I/O in logic it automatically disconnects.

I've read that this interface hasn't been updated with correct software to get it to work with your computer, but I've also read that there are ways around getting this to work.

Does anyone have any idea on what I could do? I'm desperate to getting this to work b/c I'm so creative these days and need to record!!

Thanks for reading this!

Hi,

Mbox 1 last compatible version was for Panther. LE software needs to be installed for it to work.

Legacy software is here...

Thanks for the reply, Chris.

So I guess there is no way to get this working with OSX 10.6.8 or higher?

Here's a good chart:

It looks like it might be time for an interface/DAW upgrade.

They make a driver that lets you use your mbox1 with Protools up to at least v10, and OSX 10.9.
There's a demo.

Worth a try, and don't forget to twist the MIX knob to the Playback side
