Default Can't save or open some sessions due to not having access privileges

Searching for some input. I have a Mac running snow leopard and i recently just upgraded to Pro Tools 10.3.9. Since upgrading i haven't been able to save in sessions and also some sessions i can't open. these messages are what i get.

Could not save "track" because you do not have appropriate access privileges (-5000) while opening "nejdnsnklcndl" (not actual alphabet gibberish but it changes every time). That was for saving in sessions.

Now when I want to open a particular session I get this message

Could not complete your request because you do not have appropriate privileges (-5000) while creating "Plug-In Settings" while translating tracks.

I think this obviously has to do with the plug ins i use. If anyone can help me out i would gladly appreciate it thank you.

Just a small but important note about "Apply to enclosed items":

This is a VERY potent procedure. If you use this on the wrong folder, it can render your boot disk unusable. I did this once on a folder I thought was safe, turns out it had an alias of a system Library folder inside it and critical system files had their access privileges changed. It would never boot again. I had to restore the whole disk.
