Re: Several recording issues: BSOD, noise, missing inputs, etc.
Hey,
Just curious... If in Asio mode if you tell Dante GUI you only have 32 channels (not the full 64) does that help pro tools to work with it? I mean it will only use 32 Ch max without HD so maybe it doesnt like having 64 channels available 1024 sample buffer 10ms dante buffer PLAYBACK ENGINE: 1024 buffer 7 of 8 cores (not all 8) ignore errors Set for Long buffers Windows: Turn of the Wifi and the Bluetooth

Re: Several recording issues: BSOD, noise, missing inputs, etc.
Mesaone. Thanks for your reply. I have had issues like you mention. I did not realize I could go to the Control Panel & make those changes. I have been manually changing whenever it occurs. Sometimes everything runs smoothly for so long you forget to change the Buffer Size. I'm really glad I joined . I am receiving lots of HELP & Information that I could not get online at Avid. I am still a Pro Tools Happy Camper. Thanks to Pro Tools I am able to Create the ideas I have. Even if they're not Perfect. I could never do this before. Only on cassettes or similar. With all the Plug ins it is Amazing the Variations your Ideas Develop. And all the Knowledge I'm getting from persons like you, who are kind enough to help us Novice, I am improving my Recordings & Mixes. ...tc

Re: Several recording issues: BSOD, noise, missing inputs, etc.
I think I may be getting closer to the culprit.
When I record, the Windows Resource Monitor shows a file that is spiking hard drive activity quite a bit and causes general system lag. It's C:\Windows\System32\wfp\wfpdiag.etl I have no idea what it is, but when I run LatencyMon it does the same thing. This ultimately causes artifacts in the audio and Pro Tools to drop out with an out of CPU power message. Anybody know what that file is doing and why it's interfering? No antivirus or firewalls are enabled, wifi is off, etc. etc. |

Re: Several recording issues: BSOD, noise, missing inputs, etc.
I googled wfpdiag.etl and some people at Vista Forums sort of had figured out what it is:
wfpdiag.etl. What is that? - Vista Forums Maybe that could be of help. |
