Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
Yes, but given that the OP is not computer literate, I'd give that job to someone who has done it before...

Which I've already suggested (twice).

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM-3rd party bug fixed
If I understood you correctly, your test session had many VI's and plugins but no recorded audio, and that is mostly taxing the cpu. Try running a session with 40 tracks of audio (and no plugins) and I'll bet that slow hdd of yours will not last many seconds.

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
I am computer literate as an operator. Not literate on under the hood knowledge. As I mentioned earlier, I want to mix, edit and produce without having to have a masters in computer science.

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
So I have an update on the DAE errors. I have found that ACTUALLY running a secondary DAW which is (GOOGLE NEXUS TABLET - TOUCH DAW APP) was what is causing all of the frequent DAE errors. I can enable the DAW and rain in the error messages but once I disable it, no errors whatsoever. I am going to take everyones advice and get a secondary drive anyways, however, do you think after I get a dedicated audio drive that I will be able to reconnect and utulize my secondary DAW again with no issues?

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
I´m not quite sure if this is what you mean but as far as I know you can´t run
2 audio applications/DAWs at the same time with the 003 driver, probably with the Eleven Rack driver neither. You always have to close one app to use the 003 driver with another. With other audio interfaces like for example the Apogee Quartet it is possible to have multiple audio applications opened and in use though. |

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
P.S. try to disconnect all the stuff and start again with only 1 audio interface and
the secondary drive, just to have a basic simple system which you hopefully will get to work. When this will work then you may go to reconnect every single piece step by step and find the gear which will work, replace or skip the stuff which causes troubles. The secondary drive will be there to ensure that all the audio files of your PT sessions will be played back and recorded properly without any errors. |

And yes the app being discussed is not a DAW and does not touch the audio side of things, does not touch the audio part of any interface driver etc. It is purely emulating a MIDI/HUI control surface. Why it causes problems may be as simple as use of WiFi on an otherwise overloaded or unstable system (becasue you have not configured/optimized it properly, have otherwise problematic plugins installed, etc.). So to that point, it *might* turn out that getting a dedicated audio drive and/or making other improvements to your systems may actually get this control surface app working more stably. The fastest way to know is to again set up the system 100% properly and try that app again. |

Re: PT 11 Not Recognizing My Upgraded RAM
Thanks for the good advice from a few of you. I will try the necessary steps and advice given.
As far as the nexus, I would consider it a remote controller in simple formality, as far as the snide pissing contest for " you are an idiot and the constant unwelcoming/counter productive snide remarks and I know more than you" guys, well it's really not necessary. I'm coffeejust looking for advice from other users with experience in areas I am not as knowledgeable. I have 10 years of PT experience. As I am implementing new gear I am unfamiliar with, I am seeking help...not snide remarks. And if I don't seem credible enough feel free to listen to my work at www.figuremedia.net I'm not some newbie on here wasting people's time. I think these are valid questions worthy of not being patronized in the process. Good day. |
