I'm sorry, "panel" is the wrong word.
I mean, in both the edit and mix windows you can choose to have visible or not; the inserts, sends, comments and so on, for the tracks. You choose them either in the view menu (if I remember correctly) or via the tiny icon at the top left of the tracks in edit window.
Make "Instrument" visible in edit window and chose your midi controller there.

I'm wondering if this is a simple 'mapping' problem. Terry, have you tried hitting all of the keys one at a time to see if any of the keys trigger anything in EZD?

Thanks for clarifying Ben. I wasn't aware that you could do that in the edit window. I'll try it. It won't hurt to try!

Thanks zedhed. I don't recall if I did try all the Yamaha keys but I'll try that again. If I remember correctly at one attempt I could trigger the Kick drum from the DGX500 but nothing else,(?)
