error -6031

i'm getting a pretty typical under-run error (-6031). messing with all playback settings has nothing to do with it. i can't even playback one track with no effects. i used to have an mbox which would only work when plugged into the USB 2 port nearest my power port. now i'm trying to set up an mbox 2 which connects to my powerbook through a firewire connection. could this have anything to do with it? can anyone think of anything else? i've updated to leopard 10.5 and have tons of RAM.

thanks for any thoughts. i'm frustrated.

The MBox2 is USB, not firewire----are you referring to the MBox2 Pro? If so, that IS firewire. I noticed you said you upgraded to OSX10.5, but you actually need 10.5.3 or higher, right now I think we're at 10.5.7 which is compatible.
