someone pls make a guess at a (-5000) & -48 error

I have a Powerbook aluminun G5 1.67 Mhz 2MB Ram that was purchased in late 2005and an MBOX 1. For the life of me I can't install PT 7.0. I have trashed every preference possible and reloaded. I am seeing posts that my type of G4 has USB power problems with it, but I can't even get the software to open and enter my registation. I have an MBOX1 and it works fine on my G5.

this is the error I keep getting.....You do not have the appropriate access privlidges (-5000) while creating "preferences" while creating "DAE prefs"

I also get this error..... a file with specified name already exists (-48) while creating "libary" while creating "preferences" while creating "DAE Prefs"

Again I have trshed all my preferences and tried to reload PT 7. I am up for any guesses. I have emailed Digidesgn and I can't get a response. I can't call them, because their lines are busy and I get bounced off the phone mail.

I need to solve this problem, because I need to mix audio and video while flying out to LA and to and from shoots.

Are you the administrator for the powerbook, do you have any access restrictions. Take a look in system preferences and security and see if theres anything obvious there that might be causing the problems, theres an option there about prefs, it should be unticked.

Thank you sir. I turned off file vault and PT 7 came up without a problem. Will I have to leave file vault disabled to run PT?
