Default upgrade or clean install XP??

Hi. I'd appreciate any help. I have Win 98SE and i ordered PT 6.1. Should I do an upgrade to XP or a clean install? I really don't want to loose all of my programs, but I do want PT to work well. Also sny suggestions on home vs. pro xp versions?

Thanks much in advance!

Clean install.. ok, it's a pain re-installing all your programs but it will be worth it in the long run.

It might be worth partitioning your system drive so you have a partition that is Windows & Windows only so future installs only take out the software that has hooks into the OS.

please don't do an XP upgrade. do a clean install (will save you lot of ).

XP home vs. XP pro. well, i am not completely well versed in the exact differences. i'm under the impression most (if not all) the difference exist in networking capabilities. ..which would mean a computer dedicated only to audio would not need pro, necessarily. ..but do double check with someone else.
