Default 002R as a mixer?

Hello, everyone. I apologize if this question has been answered already, but I didn't find it when I searched. Can the 002R be used as a mixer like its 002 counterpart or like the MOTU 828 II? I'd like the 002R to be the hub of my system allowing me to mix MIDI modules, EFX returns, and my LE audio files while dumping to DAT. Is this possible or do I need an outboard mixer to do that?

thanks!
