how should we map plugin parameters on S3?

how should we map plugin parameters on S3?

i am helping a plugin developer to assign plugin parameters to S3 knobs

however, i have noticed that all the parameters have to be reversed, and i have to have "reverse insert knobs" activated

is that a rule?

only with this option activated all my old plugins map in a logical way

does it mean that the new plugin has to have reversed parameters, so they are displayed correctly when everybody has "reverse insert knobs" activated?
