Default VCA Automation not copying

We have a bit of a problem here, and hoping someone might have experienced this problem before:

Middle of a post session, about 120 tracks wide, including several VCAs, and trying to do a cutdown.

If you highlight a selection (all tracks), copy and then paste that selection elsewhere, it carries along the VCA automation (and regions, and all other automation, etc).

However, if you are in spot mode, highlight that same selection, and do an option-select in order to create a spotted copy (duplicate) at a given timecode, all regions and automation EXCEPT for the VCA automation copies over.

We are running an HD2 accel 7.2 on PPC Mac.

Thoughts?

Many thanks in advance!
Josh

i haven't had that exact problem but i have had another similar issue. we were doing a cutdown and i wanted to shift some regions and i couldn't use the edit-shift function to move the vca automation. i had to nudge it instead.

(or it could have been the other way around, it was a long time ago).

The VCA automation editing should behave like aux track automation. If it is not, it's a bug.

Can either of you confirm that editing VCA automation is different than editing aux track automation?

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your reply. It's not unique to any individual session... tried it now on a few. And, we can confirm that it is not behaving like an aux track as our subs are all based on aux tracks, and those copied perfectly.

So... I believe that would make it a bug

Thanks!
Josh
