Anyone familiar with Vocal Processors?

Combining it with an Mbox Pro 3 specifically, running PT 10

I believe this was a question I was trying to ask before, but didn't have the correct language when doing so.

A vocal processor, from my understanding on the research of them is that you can do live compression, EQ, as well as reverb and a timed echo....

Are these neccessarily worth it? Or is this more for live sound rather than recording?

Anyone familiar with these hard-wares and if it could be used in the presence of a Mbox pro 3?

Some of these boxes are great for live use(love the newer blue TC Helicon foot pedal), but I would skip them for recording, and here's why:
Anything with delay and reverb will make punch-ins useless due to glitches in the audio. You will also be stuck with whatever balance of dry/effect that you recorded with(can't change your mind after the fact, without re-recording). If there's something missing in your mixes, what is it? If you are working only with the stock plugins, then a good reverb is something you NEED. Dverb is okay, but there are some excellent plugin reverbs that won't break the bank. Take a look at IK's Classik Reverbs, Overloud's Breverb and the Lexicon LXP bundle. If you're missing clarity, maybe you need a new mic or a Reflexion shield(bad acoustics can ruin the sound of a great mic). For compression, while the stock stuff works(and I use BF76 a lot), there are some better "character" compressors out there(2 of my favs are SMACK! and softube's CL1-B). SMACK! can often be found on eBay for $50(I use it on every lead vocal). Not sure I answered the question, but at least I got you thinking.....

I thought plug ins, and would like to get some that wont hurt my pocket.

Quality is good, i think I would like to utilize a different compressor and reverb.

The delay effects are pretty good and self explanatory for now.

Craig... yeah, I figured the vocal processors would be live sound demanding more than recording.
