Default POLL: What IR\'s would you like to see?

Hi collegues

I want to do a little poll on what impulse responses (IR's) you are using, (and if you do at all) in post. That is both film an tv mixing. And i like to know if there are certain IR's on your wishlist.

And i want to know from you music mixers what IR's you like to see in your pulldown menu.

I am a great fan of Altiverb and the other convolution reverbs that are around atm. I am one of the people that do a lot of IR making; check my website and see what a i did so far.

Please elobarate!

First off, a big thank you for your past work and future endeavors.

•Tubes and pipes (Large sewer sections.. new not used)
•Silos and chimneys
•Santa Monica Civic Center (Best place I ever mixed FOH)
•Empty oil tanker / cargo bays
•The new rooms at the Lincoln Center NY (Jazz)

Fokke, great work!

I do mainly music production.
I´m looking for IRs of the AMS RMX-16.

Vintage early '60s Fender Spring Reverb - preferably from the standalone Fender unit, or from the the built-in version on 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, Super Reverb, etc. Surf's up!! Great work, BTW

Even though I like the Wendy Carlos EMT, there could be a lot more EMT 140 plate IRs. Each 140 sounds different.

I could probably make most of those IRs if someone told me how or showed me a site that had instructions. I have a 960, an RMX16, an EMT140, and some chambers I have wanted to capture.

Fokke,

Ditto the 960 and more plates, esp ones with Martek electronics.

Also: There are very few medium sized, bright rooms / chambers for use with drums. You can shorten larger rooms, but that's obviously not going to give the same attack characteristics.

Regrading non real-space, electronic devices, such as spring reverbs, space echos, etc:

I certainly doesn't hurt ot make some of these IR's, but users should be aware that Altiverb can never replicate such a sound. These devices owe their character as much to the electronics as to the springs, etc. (same goes for a small PA speaker.) Hence, they are more suited to dynamic convolution. Altiverb can only offer a snapshot of such a device. Therefore, I wouldn't personally put a lot of effort into such IR's.

My wishlist has got to be the impulse response for the main stage of the Sydney Opera House.
My choral group sang there once, and it was sweet. I remember thinking at the time:
"Wow, now I know what a Hall reverb is supposed to sound like".
