For those using the Kemper will it work equally well with passive/active (think EMG's)/piezo pickups? Piezo pickups especially with the quack a poorly executed amp will produce.

Never tried playing a guitar with those pups Jack so not sure what to expect on that one. Since the models are built by "capturing" the sound of existing amp setups I'd say probably yes.

Never played a guitar with which pickups? With piezos part of the problem is the input impedance of the amp. Put through a regular guitar amp and they sound like crud with a quacking type of sound.

Only have used PAF style humbuckers, p90's and Strat single coils.

Got a PRS going into a PRS, oddly. I’m new to guitar but I’ve been playing bass for a number of years. Had time to play with the Archon model, paired it with the bx_metsl, getting some nice tones. Of course I’ve got the guitar going through the old GTR DI as well.

I’m not really a metsl guy, I’ve just got s project I’ve been working on that just calls for this type of tone. The aforementioned Dallas is good for your more classic styles like blues, soul, funk and jazz.

Next chance I think I’ll see how the bass fairs in one of these amps. Going by the descriptions I think the Blue Sierra will be the better go there. Also want to try the Brainworx Mesas for a complimentary metsl tone to the above.

Kind of hanging out for Brainworx to do a flanger. There’s plenty of other options around though.

Keep in mind that's just a collection of all Eventide plugins with nothing specific for guitar, although Blackhole and UltraTap come close. Blackhole is a good reverb for whacky stuff - it's not an every day thing. I demoed UltraTap when it first came out and was less than impressed. H3000 can be dialed in for guitar but it's hairy at best.

Just for grins the other day i was running an ibanez into FR into PT through REDD17/52 pushing the gain and drive to get a little breakup and then(one at a time) through every bx amp sim i have(pretty much all of them),the PRS stuff, through each of the pro tools pedals(listed as Maudio in my products,i dont know why), bluecat free amp sim and some NI amps. It actually was pretty cool. Kinda like running a boost or overdrive pedal into the front of an amp. Havent tried it with IK amp sims yet but i expect the same result

Be aware of something with Amplitube 4 if you ever decide to use it standalone - IK dropped an input gain stage because according to their words 'modern interfaces don't need it'. No need to tell you what I call that and it's something that comes out of the south end of a male bovine. In PT it seems to be okay. And forget about running AT4 inside Blue Cat Patchwork - it's a crashfest.

Your Ibanez - single coils or humbuckers? Got a Strat with dual humbuckers along with one with single coils and another with Lace Golds. Totally different sounds for each.

What is FR in your input chain?

My favorite bx amp sim right now for regular guitar work is the VS646.
