Default Should i sell my Yamaha NS10´s?...1030´s or 1032´s

What do you guys think? i have been working lately on a pair of Genelec 1029A´s and a 7050 sub...i haven´t used my NS10´s since i bought the Genelecs, and i don´t know if i should sell them to get either the Genelec 1030´s with a 7060 sub or a pair of 1032A´s...should i keep them for reference? 1030´s and NS10´s?1029´s and 1032´s? Any advice and possible set ups are highly appreciated.I mostly do Rock and Heavy Metal stuff.
Thanks a lot!

forget the Yamadog NS-10.... tweeters and woofers are now $150 each and only going to get higher priced and harder to find as time goes on

I've worked on the 1030a's with a 1092a sub for about 3 years, and before that I worked on the 1037s for several years, but I've always come back to the NS10's. The NS10's just consistently deliver better mixes.

I'm currently looking to purchase 3 more NS10's for my HD system that is on order.. So if you are going to sell them.. let me know. I can't say enough about those speakers.. I'm saddened that they are discontinued.

Anyone else out there running a surround NS10 setup?

Here is my thoughts:

Get rid of your NS-10's and then get rid of your Genelec's and then do yourself the biggest favor of your life and buy a pair of ADAM P-11's. I promise you you will be in Nirvana for years to come!!!!! I have mixed on NS-10's for years and years just like every mixer in the biz. I just did a listening test with Genelec, Tannoy, Yamaha, Dynaudio, Mackie and let me tell you ADAM P-11's destroyed every one of them. There was no comparison when it came to clarity bass response tone and presence. My mixes are now perfectly clear and separate in the sound space. They are so accurate but not only that they sound amazing, your ears will be so happy. Just to let you know there was a room full of engineers and mixers in this test and everyone agreed hands done with the ADAM P-11's. RUN DON"T WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

I know the discussion has been about the cheaper Genelecs, and no one has suggested otherwise, but just for the record, the Genelec S30C is a different animal from the rest. They are pretty expensive, but they sound amazing, and nothing like their younger cousins. Genelec gets a lot of negative buzz, and in many cases I think its fair criticism. But unless you've heard the S30C, please keep an open mind to them. They sound incredible.

Considering that NS10's are going away forever, in the long run you will probably be better off without them.
Like everyone and their brother, I used NS10's only for many years, but now I use 1030's with a sub, which I have no problem delivering good mixes. I sold my NS10's and never looked back.

But, I have to say that I tried the ADAM S3's couple of years ago when they first came out here in the states and I was
absolutely blown away by them. The only thing that kept me from buying them was I had just invested in
two new PT systems and a ton of gear and I was fresh out of money. If I were buying a new set today, I would most likely end up with the ADAM's. With that said, I really believe that one can do good mixes on just about any decent speaker. It just takes learning the speaker's sound. Just look at the NS10's - in reality they sound like crap, but once you understand them, they are
good to mix with. The same holds true for most any speaker.

Don't sell them... they'll be a collector's item in time... their value will only increase.

If you wait long enough, selling them will offset much of the cost of whatever you want, but right now, if you sell them, you'll get lowballed.

But, if you need the money...

P.S. I love the sound of the 1029A's... even without the sub...

The purpose of NS-10's is to sit on your meter bridge and make your control room look like the other ones on the covers of Mix magazine. 8-).

Honestly though you can get very good mixes off of them once you're familiar. However, I think it's generally a bad idea to sit a client in front of NS-10's and let them hear their mix. They really do sound odd for people used to decent home stereo gear.

I really like our Genelec's 1032A's. Clients love them, too.

Dave.

In addition to the pair that I use everyday I have a brand new set of NS-10M Studios
sitting in my closet for just this reason.
If woofers & tweeters are $150 each like "the dude" says, and he would know,
then mine are already worth more than I paid for them.

DO NOT SELL YOUR NS10's!!
They do not hold any significant value and it has been a good monitor to check some crucial levels for years, I own the ADAM P-11, 1031 and the NS10, I could get use to any good "flavor of the day" kind of monitor but have not found yet something to replace the NS10 for certain applications (like checking the mid lows punch and overall vocal level)
So... my advice is to get rid of anything but the NS10's
