2018.4 - no audio outpout

here's my conundrum:

i"m running protools 2018.4 (monthly lease - freshly installed) on a 6months old Macbook pro running macOS highSierra 10.13.5. I'm currently traveling outside the US. My usual protools mac stayed at home alas I got an urgent call to edit an emailed protools project. So I subscribed to ProTools, downloaded, installed and opened the very small project - consisting of 1 track with spoken dialog. All fine.

BUT - no audio output I tried all possible settings, no interface used, headphones out only. Anybody any idea what the possible reason for that would be? Any help and hints very much appreciated. Deadline's like yesterday ;-)

well based on your original pic it's hard to say where you have that track's output routed. You need to assign the tracks output to Output 1-2 or create or assign a bus to that output on the BUS routing page. If you don't have the tracks output assigned properly, you won't hear anything.

yeah, can you add a pick of your mix window please .. so we can see in what the output is .. and i hope those waveforms were not recorded like that !!!

You haven’t sent it going out.

Go to the bus tab of I/o. Find the one mapped to your output. Go back to your mixer and click where it is greyed out under input and flip it to the one that maps to the output.

BScout - I did what you said. I checked it and closed it again and voila - now the L/R main out isn't greyed out any more >>> audio is BACK !
