Default SATA2 okay?

I can't find any information on this anywhere. I just realized I ordered a SATA2 drive for my projects drive (I'm going to replace my current project drive which has been great for almost 3 years). Any problems with a SATA2 drive? I have read that SATA2 isn't really anything significant, but I want to be sure that it isn't something like the no RAID support thing. Thanks.

Looking at your signature it seems you are running a Mac Pro which uses SATA2 discs so I don´t understand your question... You mean SATA 1 vs SATA2? SATA2 has twice the bandwidth but is backwards compatible.

If you are using an older computer with IDE disc you are fried...

I just updated my signature. I have the Mac Pro that is 3-4 years old. The Xeon Processor one (Clovertown). According to the link, it comes with regular Sata Drive. I have just been putting in regular SATA drives, so I hope I haven't been messing things up.

But from your response, I am assuming the SATA2 Drives have no problems.

You should have no problem at all. The worst that can happen is that your computer's interface will not use the full speed of the disk interface. It will run at the same speed your current drive does or faster. You're all good!
