FWx with PT 9, Record / INPUT results in stuttered audio output

Wile trying to monitor a Stereo Output from Pro Tools 9.0.6 (on a Mac Pro that has HD Native installed) back to 2 channels of the SC48 (with another single channel's DIRECT OUT feeding a Mono Pro Tools Track), the audio would stutter / drop out UNLESS I was IN Record, or in Playback with Input Monitor.

The only solution was to set Playback Engine Buffer size to 128 or lower.

Anyone else notice this?

How else are people monitoring their Record tracks coming from SC48 via FWx?

Hi, I had the same experience only I wasnt able to record at all with any buffer settings, so I guess it's safe to say PT9 won't do it as the exact same computer with PT10 runs fine.

NOW with Pro Tools 10.2 and the SC48 Driver Update (32 tracks of FWx), I am finding the SAME issue, but ONLY on the lower buffer settings!
Anything under 512 gives the "skipping" / dropouts while in Input / Ready Record.
512 dropped out of record after 2 minutes.
Maxxing the buffer at 1024 seems to be solid for input and recording...
The SC48 has YET to be upgraded to vers 3 software.
Does anyone know if that update addresses any of this?
