Default What Backup Software does everyone use?????

Just a quick poll for everyone out there........

1. What Kind of backup software do you use.

2. How do you like it? Ease of use?

I have seen a few post of people using Acronis and I got it but it didn't seem to like my multi partitioned hard drive, and wanted to reformat. Maybe after using it somemore I can get a handle on it.....

Thanks.

With drives as cheap as they are, I stopped partitioning a while ago. I have about 14 hard drives on hand and keep 4 at a time in my machine(using a 4 slot, trayless SATA drive cage). Acronis True Image Home 11 is my choice(had to update from version 9 as it didn't work on Windows 7. No complaints from me other than the time I accidentally cloned in the wrong direction. Now I ALWAYS put one drive in a USB dock(BlacX) as Acronis shows that as a USB connection(to avoid the confusion of Disk0, Disk1, Disk2.....).

Acronis recently threw me for a loop.
I had backed up 3 laptops and 2 desktops and when I went back to use them they were all throwing errors.
I still haven't mentally recovered from that.
One machine was Win7, one Vista, the rest were XP.

Which version of Acronis? I had 10 and it was a mess so I went back to 9. Home11 is working good so far here.

Home 2010.
Maybe I'll try 11 and see what happens.

Yes, I was never able to restore from an image in version 10. Version 12 is out now, but I'm not sure there's anything there I need. I also bought the upgrade that is supposed to allow you to restore a drive image to different hardware(like to a new PC) but I couldn't get it to work.

I use Acronis Home 11 as well with no problems other than the one below, although I suspect it might be more to do with Windows than Acronis.

Hey Albee, here is a question for ya;

I tried to clone my drive but before committing, I get a message on my desktop that say's my version of Windows7 is not genuine so I didn't continue.

Have you seen that before using Acronis?

Never seen it, but never tried to clone before committing.
