How to use different timbre（articulation）in 1 track ?

For instance,i load 2 timbre (legato and pizz.),and i want to use it in 1 track with flexible switching instead of creating 2 instrument tracks(one for legato,one for pizz.) ,which is similar to the "exp" in Cubase and the "articulation" in logic.

How to do that in protools12?pls

Hello, Expression Maps does not exist in Pro Tools. Separate tracks is your only option. You have 2 chooses, learn how to use separate tracks or use a DAW that has Expression Map capability.

Also in reading the reference material, negative track delay when the sample starts, is the only way to get the tracks to be on the grid with a click track. You need this.

That can be set to keep the midi editor to display the notes as you played them or where they get moved to. That can be switched on or off. It also depends on what (presumably) sample library you're using. Different devs have different methods for articulation switching if you can load multiple in one instrument. Sometimes it's MIDI notes (outside of the instrument range). Sometimes you can do it with Program Changes, which you can insert into a CC lane on the Instrument/MIDI track. Learn the instrument and you'll be a step closer.

But I either use single tracks in Pro Tools or Cubase because Expression maps after you create them is a built in feature.
