I'm finding it's quite decent for the small sample size. D's are a difficult beast to record properly because they need a really good playing space to sound their best.

What I'd really like to find in Steinways is a B (I used to have access to one a long time ago) that's not run in Kontakt. I'm trying to get away from Kontakt stuff when and where I can. But that's a matter for another thread.

Well just for grins I called Avid a few minutes ago and asked when Falcon 2 would be in our accounts and the answer was "Right now the version we offer with Pro Tools is 1.6 and we have no tentative date on if or when we will offer Falcon 2.".

Thanks for that tip - hadn't looked at the Studio Grands collection. And it's not that expensive for what it does. Who knows the Bosendorfer might grow on me although back in the day I didn't much care for the sound. My other soft spot for Steinway B's is I've been to the Astoria facility back when you could actually talk to the people building the pianos and look at their manuals/drawings.

Translation: 'We are not going to put Falcon 2 in your user account'. Thanks for making the call. So if one wants F2 you're going to have to buy it like I did. And don't wait for any other discount or crossgrades - UVI doesn't do the latter for Falcon.

They might know better. All we now Avid never jumps the gun on announcing things, so my best guess is they wait until AES is over and then maybe next week.

Exactly. Even if Avid decides to gift this to us, we won't know about it until all the details are worked out. Until then, "maybe" is the best answer.

UVI offers 30% discount on Falcon 2 until Oct 27th, 2019. I do not believe that UVI and Avid are interested to spoil us extraordinary. Maybe afterwards, but not now, to make some extra sales.

Nevertheless, I bought Falcon 2 yesterday. Remember, you will get 2 expansions and a EUR 100 voucher for soundbanks/expansions too. Thats hot. I will use this voucher (valid for 2 months) on Black Friday 2019 to get the most out of it. I think the current deal of UVI is absolutely worth it.

Better spending some money into a superb synth than into a fifth quality reverb/compressor-plugin
