Default Where can I find drum loops?

Hello, this is probably a stupid question (or as Southpark's mr. Garrison would have it, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people :o)

Anyway, I'm somewhat new to Pro Tools, I bougt an Mbox 2 mini which came with PT7.4 LE, which I upgraded free to 8.0. I have a MacBook (previous generation wich still has firewire400), 4GB ram and everything should be up to date and have the correct plugin versions etc.

In the package was a "Method One" DVD, which among other things explains how to use drum loops to speed up composing. The problem is, I can hardly find any loops on my system. Are there any drum loop libraries included with the PT8LE and Ignition pack 2? If so, which package(s) are they in, exactly?

I'm just as new to Mac OS X as I am to pro tools, but I am a fast learner... Thanks for your help...

Robert

Robert,

A bunch of loops come with the upgrade to PT8. About 8 gigs worth.

Have you downloaded them from your "My Digi" page?

Hope this helps.

Hello ankely,
Yes, PT8 is from My Digi, is it in the main PT8 package? When I open the .dmg package, there's only the installer .mpkg and the uninstall.

I assume they must have been an optional choise at install time? If they are, can I "safely" install it again, saving me all the work I did to make sure all plug-ins are of the correct version... Took me days last time...

Thanks, Robert

edit:
OK, I clicked "view all" on My Digi, there are a lot of "Big Fish" downloadable packages, is it these I was looking for?

Cool Re: Where can I find drum loops?

Robert,

On your "My Digi" page, under "Pro Tools LE 8.0 Upgrade", click on "View All".

It should be towards the bottom, seven sets of Big Fish loops.

For future reference, some of the music zines like FutureMusic, Computer Music come with DVD's attached which usually contain a selection of loops...and frankly some are pretty good! And with PT, you audition them in tempo with tracks you're working with to hear how they sound.
I've added over 200 decent loops off several of these to my library of loops.

Just a thought.
