Default Permission Denied (13) on Launch -Pro Tools 12, Version 2018.1

Hi all I have just recently joined this forum. I have spent the last 36 hours trying to figure out how to get rid of the error message,"Permission Denied," on launch of my Pro Tools 12.8.3. I have been using Pro Tools 12.8.3 for the last 12 months. I started experiencing this problem as soon as my MacOS Sierra had upgraded to MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3. I have spent the last 36 hours reading all the similar problems and solutions/ advice provided and have gone through most of them to eliminate each solution but still unsuccessful. I have tried the following:
1. Reduced HD space on my Mac;
2. Carried out the Trash preference process;
3. Changed permissions ( read/write);
4. Carried out the first aid on the disk utility( Repaired Permission);
5. Updated my iLok software (3rd generation);
6. Finally uninstalled and reinstalled.
I'm desperate as I need one of my mixes for mastering in the next week. Any help is really, really needed thanks all.

MacOS High Sierra, 10.13.3, Pro Tools 2018.1 (previous version 12.8.3),presonus studio 68 USB, external drive(monster digital- Thunderbolt), iLok 3rd generation, Korg Kronos, Eleven Rack, Moshi USB adapter and UBL Pro Monitors. MacOS High Sierra, 4GB, 1600Mhz, Processor 1.6 Ghz Intel Core i5.
Randroo.

It appears 10.13.2 was the last "Supported" OS for that version of PT.

right click on the pro tools app in your actual app folder, and open, then it should let you override the "os protection" and after that it should be fine.

Also Make sure you don't have SMB sharing turned on in the system prefs.

Thanks all for your quick responses. I've tried the suggested solutions but still unsuccessful. It could be the compatibility issue as mentioned above. Not sure what to do next...
Cheers

perhaps apple changed something drastic in 10.13.3 then

hmmm....

but are you saying PT12.8.3 worked? if so, go back to that for now is my advice.

I;ve never installed high sierra here, so I would *have* to start at 10.13.3 as that's all apple offers now on the app store.

Anyone who buys a new mac will get 10.13.3

so my thinking is, if it IS a compatibility issue and not some other setting you need to change, that Avid should fix it pretty fast.

Do you have a support plan? if so i advise you start a ticket immediately.

Sorry i have absolutely no idea how to help otherwise.

I solved this yesterday.

The issue is that PT needs two folders to be present with read/write permissions.

1. Ensure there is a folder called Pro Tools in /Documents
2. Ensure there is a folder called 'Shared' in your Users folder with a subfolder called Pro Tools.

This should solve the issue.

Cheers,
Mike
