Default Bounce questions / PT routing help please

Hi,

I'd like to be able in the same session to print tracks with AND without plug-ins.
I've already setup a session with an aux bus that I route to an audio track (raw print) ;
So , how do I have to set it up to record with the post inserts ? Or is it only possible only with the master fader (I have to import the files in the session afterwards)...

I hope this makes sense...

Cheers,
A.

insert your plugs on the print track and then buss it to another track. your original print track will be raw, and the new track will have your plugs. i do this all the time since Massey's limiter doesn't have an Audiosuite version. Be sure to disable ADC on these tracks so that in case it's an L3 it won't cause delay comp issues. make sense?

or just make another aux with the same input bus and put the plugins on that and route that to another audio track to print.

Exactly. Put a cherry on top by naming your busses “Print DSP” and “Print Raw,” or words to that effect. It helps keeping the work and signal flow(s) clear in one’s mind — especially as sessions grow in complexity.

IHTH.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies !
Can I use a post send from my "bus" instead of assigning the same input twice ?

Cheers,

A.

Well you still need to run through an aux input to put the plugins on before you print so the easiest way is to use two auxes with the same inputs, one with no plugins and the other with the plugins which you then route to two audio tracks to print. Using a post fader send on the first aux only creates more work if that is what you mean because you still need to go through another bus to print the plugins.
