Default Re: Won't switch audio engines

I had this issue with Focusrite maybe... 4 months back.

I just clean re-installed windows.

I know.. I know.No one likes to hear or think about that, but if you keep a copy of all your programs and drivers on a flash along with some de-bloater... It can be done in a matter of hours.

I can wipe a drive and be back up in running in 5 hours.
Early day and I'm up by lunch

Hmmm, come to think of it, last year I had to resort to this as well(after weeks of hair pulling). Since that, its worked fine. The ugly thing about loading from scratch is all the related software the machine runs. This makes a strong case for my recommendation of saving at least 3 drive images(1-Windows only with all tweaks and updates, 2-Add Pro Tools and test with hardware, 3-after all software is installed authorized and tested). Then save another image BEFORE any new hardware or software is added. This way, you can restore to various working stages very easily(something I neglected to do last year)
