Ahh. Okay so what connection would I use to go from the Rosetta to Mbox pro if my SPIDIF is already being used by another converter? Do they make Cables with 2 SpIDIF’s so each digital connect Can go into MBox?

And also how do I connect one converter to the other so they all sync?

Good point - I should have stated that my audio travels ADAT and S/PDIF. I just use Word Clock for sync.

You can't digitally.

No, you'd need an interface with multiple digital inputs. Why not do what Albee suggested and connect the Neve via analog?

You connect the digital output of one device to a digital input of another device and set the device receiving the signal to sync to the source's clock.

You can't, which is why I made the suggestions earlier. Sell the Rosetta and connect the 1073 to a line input. Or, sell the Mbox and get a used 003 which CAN handle 2 digital inputs(on RCA SPDIF and optical SPDIF).

Thanks all for the feedback. So it sounds like these chains have to be used separately cause MBox is only capable of receiving one digital source at a time? A 003 is capable of of handling 2 digital sources at the same time?

To be honest it is not so much a problem for my purposes right now. For guitars, mainly acoustic, I use the API which has 2 channels. And for Vox using the Neve and Rosetta combo. The issue I am more concerned with is that I am forced to use the MBox’s internal clocking system instead of the SPIDIF clocking system right? If I am bouncing back between 2 different converters (API and Rosetta) on any one song it is probs better to keep the clock source with Pro-Tools right?. Is that the right move? When recording with different converters (each using SPIDIF) is it always better to set the clocksource as “internal” with MBox? Or am I missing out on the advantages of using a converter (SPIDIF) as a clocksource? How does this effect the finished product and overall sound?
