What make/model system drive? Samsung 850 EVO 500GB(clone is also the same)
Were you coping to the system drive? No, was copying from a 1TB on USB3 to a 6TB on USB3(the 6TB is now unreadable on 2 different PC's)
Why was the UPS beeping? Gotta be a failed UPS as AC never went out. Now have a brand new replacement installed.
Do you have Windows set up to auto-shutdown on UPS failure? No. I should have had at least 8-10 minutes, but in fact, it shut down in barely a minute In the past, I have always had plenty of time to save/close the session and then shut down everything.
Was Windows able to shutdown fully before the PC lost power? No, In the 15 seconds I was contemplating canceling the file copying, the UPS quit completely.

What is Windows event viewer telling you? No idea. Where do I check this?

Is your system booted with all its memory? Seems to have. Checking System Properties still shows both processors, all 12 cores and all 64GB of RAM.

Is your UPS sick?, get that fully out of the picture if suspect. Replaced it

Re Registry and settings; Keep in mind that all was smooth sailing up to the UPS failure and abrupt shutdown. Moved all 3rd party plugins out of the Plugins folder=no change. Ran Trasher=no change. Swapped system drives=marginally better, but still never could get PT to fully open. Installed 2018.10 over 2018.7=no change(not able to uninstall 2018.7), Unplugged 1 of 2 DigiLink connections and it WILL open PT(albeit taking triple the time to open PT and 5-6 minutes to open any session). Ran DigiTest 3 times and all hardware passes. Now I get to find out if my business policy is worth the money I've paid in over the last 10 years

However my experience is that it's hard to find any usefull information from event viewer.

Thanks for that and I will take a look. For no reason I can figure, things are now working well after a bunch of troubleshooting that should NOT have solved anything At this point, I lost a 6TB external drive and re-cloned over the corrupted C: drive. This, I can live with
