Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
The 'low level' compression in MV2 is pretty simple I believe, if you look to the picture in the manual, no? And then you have 'high level' compression on top of it, which is 'regular' RVox-like compression.

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
The low level upwards compression in MV2 is quite unique, or is it? I am looking for an unwupped preferably multi-channel alternative, but is there any? I don’t mind the high-level standard compression/limiting feature.

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
If you don't have a Waves account, sign up for one(its free) and you will receive email specials. MV2 is often on sale for $29-39. I'm not aware of anything that works quite the same. Re the WUP, I still have working Waves stuff from version 10(have not paid for WUP in a couple of years) and all the older stuff still works fine(so don't feel a need to pay for upgrades if you don't need to)

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
A fabulous multiband alternative for this upward expansion is the McDSP ML4000. It used to be pretty expensive but I've seen it as low as $50 recently.

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
Looking back over this thread, it looks like I said the exact same thing 2.5 years ago! At least I'm consistent!

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?
From MV2's manual:
Low Level Sets the low level compression threshold. Compression is applied to signals below this threshold. (From bottom up) Range: 0 to +48 dBFS I don't get how the threshold can be above 0 dBfs? As I understand it, the low-level slider sets the maximum amount of low level upwards compression. And that user cannot set the actual threshold at all. What do you think? |
